Gender Identity is a term that belongs to persons like ladyboys, or transgender and transsexuals MTF in our case. What does it mean? Ladyboys were born male and became women, that’s why the contraction MTF.

Why would they become a woman then? Because they don’t self-identify with the sex assigned at birth. In the case of ladyboys, their Gender Identity is the female type. They may also address themselves as transgender, but is not often correct.

Transgenders and Gender Identity, different case

Transgender means their gender identity do not match nor with male nor female sex. They are somehow a unique human being, who doesn’t feel to belong in any label or normative. Though, quite often in Asia, but even in the west sides, they tend to assume female or effeminated manners when the biological sex is MALE.

There are actually so many ladyboys who address themselves as transgender, even though they are in transition. Means, taking hormones, having boobs and all cosmetic surgeries to look like a perfect woman.

However, saying transgender in Asia is quite accepted in their lingo, as well trans woman, or simply transexual.

In short, this is what Gender Identity is about.

I know this is not a topic that you may not find so attractive, but It helped myself to understand better my ladyboy girlfriend. As well all the t-girls I met in these years and chats mates on ladyboy dating sites. None the less, will help you out to face those people who discriminate and generalise negatively ladyboys even though they know almost nothing about the topic. Most just know what they see on porn sites, or heard from some approximative informative medias, which often tells bad stuff.
